What is Reiki?

The laying of hands for comfort or pain relief is an ancient instinct. Human touch conveys caring and love, warmth, serenity and healing. The loving act of touch is the basis for all spiritual healing techniques.

Life Force Energy is radiated from the living body as warmth and energy. It is called Ki, Chi, Prana, or Manna, original energy, vital essence or activating universal energy. In Reiki, this energy is called 'Ki'.

Ki is an essential phenomenon. It is a type of energy that determines the fundamental state of health and vitality in all life forms. Reiki works to enhance and conserve Ki by directing its movement in the body. Ki is the life force of the universe, the source of original energy. Everything that is living radiates Ki. It is the bio magnetic origin of the aura. When Ki departs the living body, life ceases.

There are differences between Reiki and other touch-healing methods. In Reiki the practitioner does not take on other people's symptoms.

The process of attunement also makes it different. It is the attunements and signs themselves that are considered Reiki. Everything that has life has Ki. Reiki attunements connect the practitioner to the limitless source in an increased way. Once you have received the attunements you will be connected with the universal healing energy, throughout your life, simply by placing your hands on yourself or another living being. Attunement also increases your life force energy. As you experience the healing energy, for yourself, or to help others, you are aware of this gift that forever changes your life in a positive way. Anyone can use the healing gift by making a simple commitment to their own health by connecting to their own spiritual source.

What Is Energy Healing?

I'm often asked what is “energy healing” or “vibrational energy work.” Actually the question usually is more like, “Just what is it that you are doing?” Well, it's a big subject, so I will try to provide a somewhat simple answer!

My definition of energy work, or energy healing, is: the act of re-organizing energy or energetic information. Energy and information go hand in hand. Energy is information. There is a consciousness or intelligence to it. And by looking at the energy of things we can understand something about what we are seeing or feeling.

How to Restore Your Body Balance With Reflexology

foot reflexology
Reflexology is a natural approach to rebalancing the body and encouraging its internal healing processes. It is a complementary therapy and is frequently used in conjunction with other modalities. It should not be used as a replacement for seeking medical attention for acute or serious illnesses.

The term “reflexology” arises from the stimulation of reflex points on the hands, feet and ears. The body’s natural flow of energy, known as “Qi” becomes blocked due to stressors or imbalances, and by relieving that blockage through stimulation of the nerves, freeing the points of reflexology can restore the unimpeded flow of energy through the organs and systems of the body.

The stimulation of the nerves, accomplished by the placement of pressure on certain points, sends signals through the body that can increase circulation, release endorphins or other chemicals, and balance the nervous system. This opens up the energy flow in the body. Pressure is applied by manipulating parts of the extremities through massage, squeezing, or pushing. There are also special techniques for the use of thumb, fingers or hands.
